Fun Day!

I had such a great day Friday am! I made pancakes and eggs, had a Easter Egg Hunt, went to the park, saw the horses, went to another park, had five little ones all surrounding me with joy on their faces, and I WISH I could have had a picture of it. Some days, I just love my job!! Friday was one of the best. Especially when they all told me they loved me! Warms the heart in a special place when not only your own kids love you, but the ones you watch love you too!!

What are your songs?

I have this file with the words WHEN I DIE.....
A few years back my hubby and I took a trip to Cabo for our 10th anniversary. I panicked right before we were leaving and made my husband write letters to the kids in case we died. I also wrote some letters and put what I wanted my songs to be at my funeral.

Here are my songs. I'll Fly Away by Jars of Clay, I Can Only Imagine by Mercy Me , and a new one I just discovered, I Will Rise by Chris Tomlin.

This may sound morbid, but I want my death to be easy and no frills when that time comes. I want to go out of this world as CHEAP as possible too!

Here are the words to I WILL RISE:

There's a peace I've come to know
Though my heart and flesh may fail
There's an anchor for my soul
I can say "It is well"

Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

[Chorus:]
And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise

There's a day that's drawing near
When this darkness breaks to light
And the shadows disappear
And my faith shall be my eyes

Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

[Chorus:]
And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise

And I hear the voice of many angels sing,
"Worthy is the Lamb"
And I hear the cry of every longing heart,
"Worthy is the Lamb"
[x2]

[Chorus:]
And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise

Duck time

Today we did a fun book activity. I got this idea from Sandy. She has a ton of ideas that I am going to try to put into our learning days during pre-school time.
These are the books we used for the Duck lesson.

I painted the kids feet yellow and stamped it onto a light blue piece of construction paper.

I had the kids use markers to add the grass, feet, and bills.
Didn't they turn out GREAT!!

The kids wanted to paint Ms. Paula's feet, so I let them take turns doing just that! (They kept saying "Tickle Ms Paula, Tickle?") LOL, I guess that's what I kept saying to them as I was painting their little feet. I'm putting a file together of the books and art work we do. I will use mine for the file!

The kids liked listening to the stories. The Ping story was a little long.

J is for Jelly!

I've been wanting to organize my daycare/preschool crafts for sooooo long. I just don't know how to do this organizing thing. So today I"m going to attempt! We do so many fun things in the year and I take pictures, but it seems every year I'm always looking for something new. I need to keep track of what I've done so I can reuse some of these ideas with the next year. Yesterday's project:

J is for Jelly Bean!
Bag of jelly beans and put a hand full in a cup for each child.

Have the children sort by color.

Have them count how many jelly beans are in each color.
I took an ice try and put numbers in the bottom so the children could put the jelly beans in the matching number spot.

You could also use an egg carton instead of an ice tray.

And finally for the older children we graphed how many jelly beans were in each spot by their color.

(We also added colors to see how many total jelly beans we had.)
The kids loved this activity and I was so surprised how well they did with the math!
