I think my word will be (drum roll please).... Commitment! Yes, the big C word. I would love to have an organized life where I could just commit myself to anything, but just trying to pick a service time at church sometimes gives me an ulcer. This year I'm trying to commit myself to many things. Commit myself to God first and foremost. I want to take everything to God first. I want to commit myself to choosing joy instead of whatever emotion that seems to hit my nerves first. I want to commit myself to live in the moment and to take in the precious life that God has given me. I want to commit myself to all relationships not only my family but to friendships. Commit to a healthier lifestyle and actually exercise this year.
He did it with all his heart, and prospered.
2 Cor. 31:21
oh, what a great word for the year!! i love the "staying off the fence" image you've put with it.
ReplyDeletethank you for leaving a comment at amuse-bouche. i always love to know who's out there, and hope we can learn from each other.
I am having to be more careful with my commitments this year so I can stay focused. I have the tendency to say yes to everything and then be disappointed when I don't have time for things that are really important to me!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great word for 2009. I look forward to watching you put it to use!

ReplyDeleteExcellent choice of a word for 2009.
ReplyDeleteI'll be curious to see if it continues to work for you.

ReplyDeleteOh, the BIG C WORD is the toughest of all. But you can do it! Commit to commitment!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by MBB today! I hope to see you more... and please tell Tanner his joke ROCKS!
I really like the word commitment, and can't wait to see where you journey takes you. I too need to recommit myself, from time to time I seem to get caught up in things around me and lose focus on what is really important.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Amy
