Staying off the fence!

One word challenge.  A word to describe what you want 2009 to focus on.  The Tip Junkie has put up a great idea for focusing on this resolution.
I think my word will be (drum roll please).... Commitment!  Yes, the big C word.  I would love to have an organized life where I could just commit myself to anything,  but just trying to pick a service time at church sometimes gives me an ulcer.  This year I'm trying to commit myself to many things.  Commit myself to God first and foremost.  I want to take everything to God first.  I want to commit myself to choosing joy instead of whatever emotion that seems to hit my nerves first.  I want to commit myself to live in the moment and to take in the precious life that God has given me.  I want to commit myself to all relationships not only my family but to friendships.  Commit to a healthier lifestyle and actually exercise this year.
commitment |kəˈmitmənt|nounthe act of committing or the state of being committed.• dedication; application the company's commitment to quality.• a pledge or undertake

He did it with all his heart, and prospered.

  1. oh, what a great word for the year!! i love the "staying off the fence" image you've put with it.

thank you for leaving a comment at amuse-bouche. i always love to know who's out there, and hope we can learn from each other.

  2. I am having to be more careful with my commitments this year so I can stay focused. I have the tendency to say yes to everything and then be disappointed when I don't have time for things that are really important to me!
This is a great word for 2009. I look forward to watching you put it to use!

  3. Hi Paula, thx for stopping by my blog ( Great Word of the Year you chose! I'm going to follow your blog. I'm looking forward to seeing how the Word of the Year idea works for everyone. I'm going to post my word where I can see it every day! Deborah (Just Google "Webajeb"!)

  6. Oh, the BIG C WORD is the toughest of all. But you can do it! Commit to commitment!!!

Thanks for stopping by MBB today! I hope to see you more... and please tell Tanner his joke ROCKS!

  7. I really like the word commitment, and can't wait to see where you journey takes you. I too need to recommit myself, from time to time I seem to get caught up in things around me and lose focus on what is really important.
    Happy New Year, Amy
